Every month I produce a U.S. military history feature article for my base paper (no, I’m not going to link to it). We don’t have the highest readership, but I’ve discovered I adore putting these things together. This makes sense and shouldn’t have come as a surprise to me. Afterall, most of my writing is historical fiction, where I bury myself in research in order to craft a historically accurate world. That’s not the sort of endeavor one undertakes if they don’t love history.
Since it is my writing, my fiction writing revolves around history and war, and there was a demand on my Twitter feed (two people), I’ve decided to begin adding these stories to my blog here. I’ll use the tag “military history” to make these posts easy to find. I hope you enjoy!
In other news, massive revisions for The Wolf Queen are underway. On one hand, I’m disappointed I threw it into the query trenches before it was ready, on the other hand that experience lead me to invaluable feedback. I’ve immersed myself in yet more research (hello, series bible!), and craft books and podcasts as I wade through precisely what wasn’t working in my manuscript. I think the revisions are going to result in a more polished, elevated novel that it at long last ready for an agent.
If you’d like to stay up-to-date with The Wolf Queen’s progress, please sign up for my newsletter. Fear not, I almost *never* send a newsletter. You will only receive mail from me when I have something solid to share.
